Here’s some food for thought

since the silica is way less effective, let’s say in 10 hours we open the filter to see the silica is going pink,so rather than changing the silica, if we seal the dryer from outside air during down time, wouldn’t the sieve remove moisture from the silica, maybe turning it back to bluish over a day or so?

if this is the case, the silica would, down the line turn pink, and fail to go back to blue which would indicate the sieve is full..

it seems to me the moisture in the dryer would tend to equalize...

Interesting thoughts for sure. Blue silica beads turned pink indicate that there also is moisture adsorbed in the zeolite. It may not be an identical degree of saturation but pink silica means less than dry zeolite which cannot draw moisture out of the silica at all. Once a moisture molecule is adsorbed into a zeolite bead it only is removed by heat evaporating it out at high temperature. I make filter cartridges for gold filters and seed the 13X zeolite with blue silica beads for users who may not have an hour meter on their compressor. I recharge or replace the zeolite every 20 hours in my gold filter cartrdige. It is probably half the useful life of the cartridge to remove all moisture but that's my maintenance choice. Zeolite reheated to 483 degrees F (250 degrees Celsius) will evaporate out any held moisture and be fully recharged.

yes, you can, no problem, but the best desiccant is calcium chloride

i have asked the seller, what is the difference of silica and calcium chloride, and the seller told me, the best desiccant is calcium chloride, coz it is non-toxic, and easy to change.
