Colt Peacemaker ?

Has anyone had any experience with these Umarex Colt Peacemakers ? I am looking to do some back yard plinking and would love to try one out, but I have heard through a friend that there may be barrel issues with them. I'm told the steel bb version hammers the barrels. is this true and if so what about the pellet version as they shoot lead pellets ? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of any barrel issues. Does your friend HAVE the gun or just his repeating some story he heard? I've fired my BB version a lot and no issues. It's a fun gun for plinking. It is even more accurate if you use 7.0 grain lead pellets with the smooth bore barrel. Just insert the pellet like you do a BB, then use a ball point pen to seat the pellet just past the plastic insert in the "cartridge". In my and my son's guns, the pellet is more accurate than the BB's. If you get the pellet version, don't use steel BB's in it.

No he does not. However he directed me to several YouTube videos where they actually show the damage and list the contact information from a fellow in Hawaii who makes a replacement barrel. They claim it happened around 1,000 or so BB's fired. I wanted to get a BB version but I am totally ok with purchasing a pellet pistol and shooting it . As I mentioned, it is just a back yard balloon shooter. I really love the single actions colts and actually own a powder burner from the Colt custom shop. So that said I am going to own one and being able to shoot pellets through it also has just helped me make my decision. I will go with the Duke BB version and shoot the pellets as suggested. Thanks again for the response.
