Sorry... You are correct. There was a significant influx of Protestant German immigrants to the area seeking relief from religious persecution between 1710 and 1745. Many brought with them the rifle building technology from their homeland that allowed for rifled barrels. Among them were a few of my relatives who got here around 1734
