cleaning your target gun

Wolverine B hilite....lothar walther barrel. Havent cleaned in 4000 rounds still half inch or better at 50yrds. Velocity on 18gr jsb is 900fps. The faster you shoot......the faster you buildup lead deposits in the barrel. Non lubed pellets by the way.

I clean before every match when shooting field target. I clean between every card when shooting bench rest.

I clean my Steyr LG 110 FT after every 500 shots. I can start to see when the groups are starting to grow, then you clean the barrel. I've seen guys clean their gun after every 5 shots, they say it keeps the barrel clean, I don't think it is necessary. Even my hunting air rifles get a good cleaning after every 500 pellets.

I clean after every time I shoot. There don't seem to be any matches around me, so I don't do that, but I do shoot and always clean my guns after each shooting session.

Every gun is different. There's no set time or procedure. Something you really got to figure out yourself.

Gotcha!, I give a light cleaning after about 70 shots, I use cotton patch wrapped up on a brass brush like a burrito, with balistol, follow up with dry patches, I leave alittle gray on last patch for seasoning. That's for my RAW .30
My BM500 is different, hardly do deep cleanings, I'll shoot 3 cleaning pellets between cards, 1first pellet is a abrasive pellet soaked in Balistol, follow up with 2 dry reg pellets.

Muzzle

I think every gun (barrel) is different, my Standard LW is every 30-40 shots,if I'm shooting for groups the groups let me know! The poly LW is 50-60 shots, but this also is with jsb's!,other brands differ!, you just need to determine your own method & timeline. I will say, I clean from the muzzle end, using a pull thru,but easy to do W/ the RAW's!

I clean my .177 TM 1000 Polygonal barrel with a pull through from the muzzel with one or two patches with Hope's cleaning solution on it and then a couple of dry patches. I clean when I notice the card scores start to go down. Hard to say exactly how often. 5 or 6 cards I'd say so 125 - 150 shots.

I don;'t lean the bores of my air rifles/pistols as such.

After each session, they get a pull through with a VFG Pocket Kit, with the felt being impregnated with PTFE grease (Lupus grease in this case).

This is not for cleaning as such, but rather to preserve the bore and protect from rusting.

I live less than a 100 yards from the English Channel, in an old, cold, leaky, and not centrally-heated Victorian house.

Steel will rust as you look at it !
