Cleaning pellets

I use them on many of my guns, they are generally moderator safe, I use them in several different moderated guns. I generally use them dry, after cleaning the barrel with a boresnake or similar cleaning method. Some moderators have closer tolerances than mine, so care should be taken to make sure the cleaning pellet makes it out. Even if it don't, it should not damage any internal parts. Worst case scenario is you'll have to remove the moderator and possibly take it apart to get it out if it does get stuck.

Some of my earlier pellets are just lubed, but lately I have lots of spare time and go through the whole process.I begin sorting them with a PelletGage checking the condition off the skirts at the same time. Next is washing them in an ultrasonic cleaner with a capful Hornady Sonic solution along with a small amount of Dawn. Usually I do 500 pellets at a time and use enough hot water to cover them well. I let them clean for about 45 minutes on full heat. Rinse them well, dry with a small towel, finish drying with a hair drier. Then they are placed in a thin ziplock bag and add about 8 drops of Napier Pellet Lube. A little goes a long way and after moving them around for a few minutes all the pellets are fully coated. Next, and last, sort them by weight on my Reloadr Sharpshooter scale In this process II separate them into 7 weight ranges and place them into the approprite labeled tin. I have good success in firing a very close pattern. On my 25 yard range in my basement it's usually 8 pellets into 1 hole. At worse it is a slightly raged hole.
