It is CLEARER than the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 comparing both at 24x for an even comparison and it's almost as clear as the SWFA SS 3-15x42 at 15x but the difference you may not even notice it if you compare it to the 4.5-27X50 Alpha6 when cranked down to 15x to do a side by side. The 2.5-15x50 Alpha6 you probably will notice that the SWFA SS 3-15x42 has the edge at 15x but the difference isn't more than triple the cost difference. I am not going to be looking forward to buying any more of the $699 SWFA SS 3-15x42s anymore because of the $229 Alpha6s and also because of the $299 on sale at SWFA Bushnell TAC 5-15x40AO 15x Mildot. The difference in optical clarity is too close to justify spending 2-3x the money.
Once you buy a Chinese 4.5-27x50 Alpha6 there will be a lot of POPULAR higher priced costing a lot more than the $229 from Budk or $299 if you buy the Alpha6 elsewhere you probably be happy even if it cost $599. A lot of other higher dollar Chinese scopes that will for sure disappoint you in clarity in the $300-$1200 price range except for the Japanese and Filipino made ones. That is unless your eyes aren't too good or you can't see chromatic aberration like many many many here think their scopes are perfectly clear all the way to their max zoom power thinking perfect crystal clear because they never looked through a Swarovsky, Nightforce, March , Schmidt and Bender, Zeiss or Valdada before to know what crystal clear really is like. I ordered a crapload of the Alpha6s after being disappointed comparing the Alpha6 to a more than triple the price Chinese big buck (bigger bucks than the SWFA SS 3-15x42) BUSHNELL FORGE (TOP OF THE LINE CHINESE!!!). Rather disappointing indeed!
