Just curious how many other cigar smokers are out there? What are some of your favorites? I just had my first Cuban last night, a Cohiba Maduro 5 and it was pretty good! Not worth the $40 if you get them from an authorized dealer in somewhere like Canada but if I can get a deal on some legit ones again I’ll be buying more. Rocky Patel is probably my favorite brand as of now, I haven’t really had a bad one from him. If I’m in the mood for a flavored one either acid kuba kuba or point break mojito are my go to cigars.

I don’t smoke them often. Almost never actually, giving my heritage a bad name 😂. Therefore not a connoisseur 😞. But, I have it in good authority that the Hav-a-Tampa are very good. They were planted from Cuban seeds after the Castros took over. Also, check out Dominicans. I have been told that they rival Cubans. I tend to not support that dictatorship’s economy (personal reasons, not judging)

Now, rum, rum I know! If you can ever get your hands on Matuzalem authentic Cuban rum, do it, I won’t be mad.

I’ll check them out! Cohiba also operates out of the Dominican Republic and I really like those cigars also. Another one that’s rumored of Cuban tobacco but nobody knows for sure is atabey  people claim they’re Cuban in a different wrapper

I’ve heard a lot of people say Cuban rum is very good too. My in-laws go on cruises a lot and pass Cuba. They’ve talked about going on one there. If they do they’re gonna load up for me lol

I was born in Santiago, Cuba. Both Matuzalem & Bacardi rum where born in Santiago. Minutes from my home. After the “revolution” Bacardi fled and set up shop in Puerto Rico. Matuzalem followed suit.

I fled Cuba at the age of 10 & have a deep hatred for that dictatorship. I try not to support them in any way I can. But, I was gifted a bottle of authentic Matuzalem a few years ago, oh boy, good stuff!

There’s another great rum, will let ok up, can’t remember now. Will let you know when I find it.

As for cigars, I have enjoyed them, but never got into it, so don’t know much.

I’ll definitely see if I can get my hands on some! I would like to go visit there just to see the difference in culture but I don’t fly and I’m not driving all the way to Florida to catch a cruise lol

Padron is my favorite., Rocky Patel a close second.  Cheap bundles of whatever for everyday smokes & sometimes some of them will surprise you.  The Arturo Fuente "Short Story" is a great little smoke when you don't have a lot of time. Never seem to get a bad one. Great stress relievers better than a squeeze ball, LOL.

I just had a pardon not too long ago and enjoyed it. I smoked me a rock Patel world reserve last night and really enjoyed it. My new favorite flavored cigar is from deadwood estates called fat bottom Betty and crazy Alice. Kind of like an acid but better imo

Well, lit one up tonight. Along with a nice bon-fire & a Craft Pumpkin Cider. Last night in TN. Even shot my airguns earlier.

Sounds to me like you had a good weekend! I always look forward to heading to my cabin for the weekend because it usually ends up with me wandering through the woods with a cigar and airgun and something good cooking up on the grill or smoker.

I’ve had several inexpensive cigars before that weren’t bad. There’s an interview with an old ww2 vet that’s something like 110 years old that smokes a bunch of cheap cigars a day. I’ll try and find it.

it appears that he has passed. But to live to 112yrs old living on cigars, whiskey and ice cream is my dream life! May he rest in piece and I will smoke a cigar this weekend  for him!
