Chrony test and shot count from my CP1-M Co2 pistol. Your mileage may vary.

I got my CP1-M from mrodair a few days ago but only this afternoon have I had time to even remove it from the box.

Soooo… after fighting the madding crowd at WallyWorld for a few Co2 cartridges, I fired up the chrony and decided to get some sort of feel for what I could expect from my first Co2 gun in quite a few decades.
Yep, it’s been a loooong time.

I plan on doing at least one video on this gun. I will do trigger testing out of the box so you can have a baseline, then I will do the trigger mod and you’ll be able to determine for yourself if you want to jump in there and mess with it.

I’m a firm believer in having the best trigger possible. Early reviews and a few CP1 owners I have spoken with say the rework is easy and it is a big improvement.

Today’s shooting (I wouldn’t call it a test) was with the JSB 8.44g. The reason that I used these was because I had a partial tin of them and thus the reason for shooting them. The suggested pellet is the JSB RS 7.33g. I currently have not received my order of pellets as of yet but those are on the list to try.

I also used the single shot tray. I prefer a single shot over a mag fed for no other reason than that’s what I like.

Here is a pic of the print out from that test.

As the caption says, “Your mileage may vary”.

If I’d had stopped at about shot 86 the SD would have been much tighter as there is a difference of 40fps between shot 86 and 91 so my guess is I can get a good solid 80 shots per cartridge with a low SD. Even with this, the gun greatly exceeds my shots per cartridge needs.

The chrony test was in my garage where the air temp was in the mid 80’s, and remembering that Co2 increases pressure when warm, I would occasionally put my hand around the tube that holds the Co2 cartridge to warm it increasing velocity as much as 10 fps or so. It was more noticeable after about 30 to 40 shots.

This coupled with the time between shots of about 8 to 10 seconds I'm sure this contributed to the increase number of shots that others may have experienced.

Further testing will be done with the magazine as well. I’m running very low on ammo right now and my ammo order won’t arrive until for a few more days.
