Been using a ProChrono to measure muzzle velocity and notice a nuance. Slight change in pellet path relative chrono's center line axis can result in large variations, 870 vs 950 in measured fps. I'm planning on being more careful in gun and chrono alignment going forward.

Is this the chronograph that uses 2 sensors placed at a set distance apart to detect the speed of the projectile?

Doppler radar may be(?) the way to go for accuracy.

I'm pretty sure Doppler radar is not used by anyone . Chronographs are simple clocks triggered by photo receptors. One to start the clock and the second to stop the clock. Stupid simple, cheap to make and accurate.

    LabRadar is Doppler radar-based.
