Chipper #67-70 for 2021, #14 for October, #3 for November

Another one from the woodpile. Chipper was sitting, hunched over a bit and looking at me. Shot was ~15 yards and entered the nose just in front of the right eye, traveled through the head and into the body getting the heart. DRT, no exit and no movement after the shot. It was hard finding the entry hole as the pictures will attest. There was a small amount of blood in the right ear, but that was not the entry. This was a large female.

~15 yards with .177 Benjamin Fortitude Gen2 using LUM77 10.5 @ ~750fps for ~12+fpe. Scope is Aim Sports Alpha6 4.5-27x50 set at 27x.

First pic is where it fell, not posed. The next 2 are posed in an attempt to show the entry wound. The last one (posed) shows the full chipper. Ping pong ball for scale.

No cigar. Maybe later.

Sorry, no pics, but my tally is now up to 69 chippers. #68 was just like #67, but was a mirror image. The entry was on the left side of the nose and a slight amount of blood came out of the left ear, head/heart shot, DRT. #69 was not a perfect heart shot as there was blood, but it was still DRT just the same or close to it. (sigh) We all miss sometimes... I just try to miss as small as possible. (smile)

Aim Small Miss Small.

The temps here are supposed to rise into the high 60s, low 70s in a few days, so I may get a few more shots but I am not seeing very many chippers right now. Not in my yard or anywhere nearby in the neighborhood and I do look for them everyday.
