One shoukd never assume its legal to shoot a certain animal. The assumption should be the opposite.

Contact your local game and wildlife management for legality concerns and those who gave you the permit to camp and you may need to pay a fee to obtain a hunting license since its not on your own private property where these critters pose a nuisance.
