Chinese M10 x 1 quick connector - please share your experience

I have came across a couple of reports saying that the connector is blown apart during use and would like to know :

1) the mode of failure : the balls slips out from the groove on the male part ? or some other parts break ?

2) the material of the connector , brass or stainless steel ?

3) who supplied those parts , e.g. came with the compressor, brought separately from Aliexpress, etc.

I have a handful of these connectors and I am not sure if they are safe to use.

I personally have not had one let go. I have a fairly large collection of 10mx1, 1/8 NPT, and 1/8 BSPP male and female fittings. I also have a few dies in these thread sizes. Some are compatible and some are not. The ones that don't fit are usually because of the male side being slightly too large. I have had a few Oring failures because some of the couplings use different sizes or double Oring designs and the wrong male side can pinch or squash them. Nearly all of my fittings, hoses and gauges are of the cheap Chinese type. A little bit of common sense and the right type of washer or Oring is the main thing in solving compatibility issues or if you have deep pockets, only use one brand and replace all your guns, pumps, filters and compressors fittings with the same brand.

My hand pump fittings are fickle. They fit but are prone to leaking. They need to be held just right to work properly. I replaced the orings and it helped some but not 100%. They are brass. My compressor fittings are brass and work perfectly no matter what I snap onto them. No issues what so ever. Comparing them side by side they look identical.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a list of all the different foster connectors, with links of where to get, and what fits what? I have a vast collection of fittings, whips, adapters. Some connect to others, some will not. Might find a female and male that connect, but have wrong threads for whip hose. Some tend to leak, some not. Soooo confusing.
