Checking my POI on my Impact this morning..

As I do every time b4 leaving the house to shoot squirrels, I checked my zero on my Impact Mk2 .22 600mm. This morning it was, as almost every other morning, a group anyone should be happy with. As I walked back from the target it occurred to me that I ought to take a picture of the group and share it with those of you on the fence of trying to decide if you should pull the trigger on buying an impact. I have had this gun for almost exactly a year now and it has been a true pleasure to own.

I almost passed on buying the Impact because of all the negative stories I have read regarding this air rifle. I know part of it is a "no news is good news" situation. With so many rifles sold compared to other rifles on the market, if even a small percentage of users post their issues it makes you wonder what the truth about these Impacts really is. My belief is the vast majority of users are like me, they shoot their Impacts often and they are accurate and reliable and a joy to own.

The group pictured is typical, not exceptional, from my experience (50 yds. NSA .218 31.2 gr. Superior Slug Liner at 850 ft/sec wind 5-10 L>R)

That is a fine group with no wind. I see a lot of guys post wind speeds with a pretty good group almost as an excuse as to why it isn’t a single ragged hole. Some of us know what a true 5-10mph wind does to a projectile. Especially if the wind is not consistent. I would prefer guys leave the wind out unless it’s a realistic windy day group. I have a wind meter at the 50 yard line. A true 5-10mph crosswind wreaks havoc on my 25 cal slugs. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

I have a new impact mk II .22 700mm heavy slug liner that had tune done by UA. The accuracy is acceptable w slugs at 50 yds and good w JsB monsters too at initial sight in. Then the next day POI changed drastically like 4” for approx one magazine then came back to original POI. But why the change. Tank pressure still above reg. Topped off and shot again shot great for 15 shots then literally was flinging lead everywhere for the remaining mag. Reloaded mag shot first four great and then all over. I have done this routine for days gun shoots great for one -two mags then terrible for one mag then good again without changing anything? Shot good to start the day today, @1.5 moa at 100yds with monsters for 12 rounds then the remaining magazine 2-3 feet low and all over the place. This has gone on for several days all calm days too and am just wasting ammo. Any help would be appreciated. Will be calling UA Monday.

Yikes, something seems off. Maybe something is loose or clipping. Definitely call Utah air about it! It is NOT normal.

Great grouping.

I too have no complaints on my mk1. For being the 1st. gen. The upgrades you can do makes the impact future proof and customizable. I added a.25 700mm, .30 600mm, and a single .30 ronin for both .25 & .30.. Just added a plenum. So much more.

But back on topic, it's a great gun.

I use the .30 to down pigs at 25 yards. Ragged hole like yours.

Smoking one today.
