Chameleon springs

I've owned 3 Chameleons and souped-up at least 2 with stronger hammer-springs from my assortment of springs I've assembled from hardware stores, Harbor Freight Tools, etc. As I recall, the Chameleons did not allow for springs very different in inside and outside diameters than the original spring, but I did have hardware springs close enough that were stronger but close enough to original diameters to fit and return more velocity. I probably had to cut them to length.

I doubt you'll find original springs, or anyone that can give you technical specs. But you can find springs that will work, with no need for overthinking.

I just realized the last Chameleon in the attachment is also titled #2; but it should be titled #3.

I have tried some new springs but the bouncing continued. I talked to Baker Air Guns and they told me that the valve spring and hammer spring would need to be balanced. I have put new hammer springs in a gun and had no issues so I know it can work so I will just keep looking. What I have noticed is that the hammer spring has a smaller diameter at each end than the middle of the spring and I have had trouble getting a larger spring to evenly contact the hammer. I will look for a washer to place between the hammer and spring.

Thanks

as said there are no parts that can be found on these old co2 pistols and the owners manual give no dimensions

both the model 4 and model B96 use the same springs as listed in there owner manuals

I would have to see if the Tau 7 series of pistol might use the same spring and I will look

the only other chance is email them at Aeron Brno and see what they have to offer

post the spring wire diameter OD and length of both and I will look around for some sort of replacement spring

you need a translator on your computer

I sent an email to Aeron

the tau 7's will not help

and the valve spring as pictured in the diagram looks bigger at the rear then the front but hard to say

why do they need changing
