Chairgun software differences!

Hopefully someone can chime in and give me a little guidance on this situation. I have compared two different versions of Chairgun (v 4.0 and 4.2.8) and I am getting differing results.

For example, I have put in the identical information for my Royale 500 and at 100 yards I am getting a difference of 1.5 mildots at 100 yards. Version 4 has it hitting at 3.1 mildots and version 4.2.8 has it hitting at 4.6 mildots. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Thanks, Keith.

"Keith2324"Well I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is working. Maybe someone else can do a comparison on different versions and report their findings. Truly puzzling!

Keith.
That is a hard one Keith, I'm not seeing it on any version.

I guess the real question is, "Is it giving you accurate data compared to what your rifle/pellet combination is doing in the real world?" That is what matters the most. Shoot some targets at various ranges with the same zero and compare the results in Chairgun.

Did you switch your right side measurements to inches instead of mils? That will make a difference because mils is true magnification relative.

I intend to do that this afternoon. I have targets set up at different ranges and I will see which version of Chairgun is correct.

What do you mean exactly when you are referring to "right side measurements?"

Keith.

:) On your graph, the right side is shown in various units. When it is set to show as "mil-dots" it takes into consideration the magnification you have set for the active "tab" and the correct calibration of your mil-dots if that has been done for that tab. If it hasn't been done it considers the maximum magnification for the scope you chose when you selected your reticle. That could give rise to the problem you describe. The way to avoid that possibility is to select inches for the units displayed on the right side of your graph.

Under the "Embelishments" menu look for "Right Side Markers" below that select "Units".

That will eliminate any issues with scope calibration.
