Tuning CAUTION!! Air Venturi Avenger - Plenum Change

Hello Avenger Fans,

This is a Public Service Announcement for those who want to increase the plenum volume of your Avenger. I just performed this upgrade last night, and it took a WHOLE LOT longer than I anticipated from watching the upgrade being done online. Well, it turns out that there is a tiny set screw that gets torqued down on the actual threads of the Pressure Relief Valve Plug assembly. I just thought that there was lock-tight on the threads, so I gnarled the top couple threads of this plug pretty badly.

Here is a picture of the set screw peeking into the thread assembly. You can also see the 1.5mm allen wrench that I have inserted into it. You have to take the back of the stock off too, when getting to this screw.

Here is a picture of Page 9 of the Avenger Schematics that shows the Pressure Relief Valve Assembly. You can see that part #18 is the set screw, but this isn't listed in the table any where. I consider this to be on me, but I wanted to show this minor discrepancy.

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know about this little "gotcha" to this upgrade. I was able to clean up the mess I made, but I hope that this note will keep someone else from potentially tearing up the threads on this Pressure Relief Assembly. Good luck!

Thanks, This is very valuable information

That little set screw catches a lot of people out, including myself initially but I figured I'd missed something in less than 1/4 turn. Others are not so lucky. I made a new plug for one guy that made a real mess of his. I also managed to save a couple too with a little filing.

I usually provide instructions with the plenums I make BECAUSE I know that little screw can cause a lot of trouble.
