Carbon Fiber Tanks

I've own a FWB 124 for 40 years and have now decided to get into PCP. Yesterday I purchased a Daystate Wolverine 2 HP - R in .25 cal from AoA. I'm trying to find a tank for refilling it and the prices of carbon fiber tanks ire ridiculous! Any suggestion where to go? New vs Used? Thnx

I'd go used. This is the latest one I bought, still has 5 years service life left, and is in current hydro for another 6 months before you need to have it hydro'd again ($30 in San Diego). The tank is a large one, 88 cu. ft. or 60 minutes. The fill rig listed below is very good, I've bought at least 15 of these over the past 3 years, and have never had any problems.

Check with Wes at https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/ and check out his CF package: https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/3l-acecare-carbon-fiber-cylinder-fill-station-dated-june-2019/

If you don't have your own fill compressor, you can get a DOT approved C.F. tank at https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/6-8L-DOT-Certified-Pcp-Air_60751182151.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.53.73776445e9QoiN for around $369 USD for the tank alone.

I have a Chinese CF tank and I can find no problems in the tank's construction. It usually takes an 18 X 1.5 valve threaded for the tank, so be careful when you buy a valve for it. Ebay, Amazon, Wes has them too, and they are made for the 6.8L Chinese tanks,

Good luck!

you're better off with a spring gun. too many things to go wrong with a pcp and the support equipment is costly. with the zombie apocalypse just around the corner, you're never going to be able to find air. however, since i'm such a nice guy and would like to know you're ok during the apocalypse, i'll trade you my beloved hw30 for the air hog wolverine. better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks for the tip, that's a good deal in spite of the $12 tax charged at closing..... first time that's ever happened for me with an ebay purchase.

If this is Washington state policy, I'll be avoiding ebay sellers from WA from now on.

Ebay started to add taxes for buyers in most states. It's not the sellers anymore. States forced Ebay to charge taxes, even if you purchased items from China.
