Can you uncock a Gamo CFR IGT?

Hello knowledgable airgunners. I recently purchased a Gamo CFR IGT. Can they be unloaded and "de-energised" if I don't take the shot.Say in the way you can with an old BSA Meteor(my childhood gun),Hold the broken barrel and squeeze the trigger and gently return the barrel to closed position. My issue is,is it bad to keep the gas piston under pressure for too long.
Thanks in advance,Paul.

Don't own one but... if the trigger and safety action is anything like 99% of the Gamo guns, there is an anti-beartrap device inside the trigger assembly. It basically blocks the trigger from moving when the barrel is retracted or the underlever is retracted, it's the same as the safety blocking device only on the other side of the trigger housing. So the answer is probably No, you cant "de-cock" it like your old Meteor. As for the gas strut, there should be no issues with keeping it cocked or pressurized. These struts or Nitro Pistons are similar to the struts used on cargo doors on mini-vans or SUVs, they are gas filled rams with seals, they either work, or they don't, no in between. They are very robust devices and don't have the issues of temper and deformation like energized metal springs do.
