Can You remove Daystate Moderator

I technically got the Airstream moderator off my Air Wolf using a heat gun. Problem: the 1/2 UNF threaded endcap that attaches to the shroud stayed within the moderator and it is stuck a few inches inside the moderator. It is on there good too. I wonder how to get this piece off without damaging the moderator. I wonder if it is threadlocked or epoxied? If this happens to your daystate (if it is set up like the Air Wolf), maybe you can just order just the endcap and threadprotector. I was thinking of doing this but have not researched it.

I also used a heat gun to remove the Huggett from my Regal XL, which has both the moderator and a full shroud made by Huggett, and not just the Bellitta moderator which screws into the UNF threaded end cap. You have to heat it up pretty good, and I don't think a hair dryer will do it, but could be wrong. Once its unscrewed you will need to clean all of the epoxy out of the grooves in both the shroud and the moderator, a tooth pick works well. Then before assembling, very lightly coat the threads with silicone grease (Dow Corning high vacuum grease or similar); this will make it much easier to remove the next time. Also, when reattaching, make sure you don't cross thread the connection to the moderator; its a bit tricky putting it back on because there is an O-ring (also grease this) that slips over the end of the barrel. I've attached a series of photos below showing the Huggett on and off the rifle, and also the interior viewed from the barrel end, and from the front end after removal of the cap. There's some nice engineering here. A final note about why its worth being able to remove the Huggett: (1) if ever by accident I ever double load two pellets, I always remove the Huggett before shooting the rounds. I managed to badly deform one of the set of the interior components on a Huggett on another rifle when I did not do this, but fortunately was able to buy replacements from AOA without sending the rifle, with the removable Huggett, in for repair! (2) Its much easier to use a bore snake to clean the barrell with the Huggett removed. (3) You quickly establish how good the Huggett is, or rather how loud the rifle is without a moderator.
