i notice some members follow others on this site. some have upwards of 20 followers or more. what is the idea behind following a member?
can someone tell me the purpose of "following" another member?

I guess if you find their posts to usually be of interest, and them to be knowledgeable/helpful, you might want to follow them to see all that they post.

There are many topics that are discussed on this forum and it is easy to miss a discussion. Members with the same interests will tend to be interested in the same topics. Following them helps to alert you to these discussions. Other times it's just nice to follow what another member says. I follow about 5 members.

There are some who .... really understand the modern air gun and typically have valid no fluff information in what they post and you wish to follow. Other maybe a member who has an outlook that you agree with and wish to read what they have to say. Or a member who is so off the wall you are so entertained with to a degree ya just gotta read there off the wall comments ..... etc etc etc

I like to follow people who have the same model airgun that I have so that if they post anything related to it I can learn or help them with it.

Click on the person your interested in fallowing and at the top of the profile page click follow.

Click on your profile and you will find "Followers" in the tabbed sections! Click on it to see who is following you!

The reason I follow some on here is I feel they have more knowledge in some areas than me and I feel I can learn a little something from them.

Seriously though, I concur with what is being said. Although I thoroughly enjoy the sport and enjoy hearing from most folk here, there are some whom I may want to follow because of a particular interest I may have that the person has good knowledge of and may often share said knowledge.
