Can someone send me a picture and any info on the Condor SS Top Hat O-Ring

I have been researching and going crazy. My kids need the computer for homework! LOL too bad. It is like pulling teeth getting good solid info. I would like a pic of exactly where to put the o ring and what size if possible. And what to expect, from someone who has one and has done it. I have read a lot of posts and watched you tube videos but they never show it. My gun is stock and 25 cal. Thanks in advance.

Get two flat head screw drivers and put them under the tophat on each side and use them to pry up pulling the tophat out of the tank. Kinda like taking a cork out of a wine bottle. I dont remember the o-rings size but I know I used one that had an ID slightly larger than the OD of the tophat stem so it would freely move. Keep the OD of the o-ring small enough that it doesnt shift out from under the tophat on one side during the shot cycle. You can try varying thickness of o-rings until you get one you like.

Thanks LDP. But the top hat has set screws. Do I loosen them first? I thought i read that the top hat unscrews? Wouldn't prying it out damage it? Or does it pull the whole thing out of the tank. Also does the tank need to be empty? This is why a picture says a thousand words. LOL I just don't want to screw it up. Can the o ring be seen on the gun when it is all together?

They say it can be a poor man regulator smoothing out the shot spread more evenly and saves air. Im sorry to be a pest but I'm trying to learn but there are never any pictures just results. I just don't want to make a mistake and ruin something. My top hat has to tiny allen key set screws where the air goes and gets covered by the sliding breach.

No you dont loosen the set screws. You can remove it with the tank full and yes that whole piece in your picture is what will pull out of the tank. Just put the screw drivers under the fat part of the OEM tophat and push the handles down which causes the top hat to be pulled up and out of the tank thats it. Then reinstall by pushing the tophat back into the tank until it gets tight. Make sure you do it straight and dont push sideways. Then you just fire it a few times to fully seat the tophat back into the tank. You will know its inserted fully when it starts discharging air on the shot.

I might order one but I have spent so much money last month on the gun and compressor I'm afraid my wife will kill me if i get anything else right now. lol. So after I get this done I will crony it and see if it helps at all. Thanks again guys.

You are welcome. I didnt have any pics and I sold my airforce rifles so I couldnt get pics so im glad the explanation was enough to get you over the hurdle.

If you want to use the factory tophat,,,,,, NO NEED to remove tophat !!! Get a proper diameter + thickness o-ring or flat rubber washer with a 1/4" ID hole, take a razor knife, make ONE cut through side of the o-ring or washer, they will hold shape and you can slip it on and off under the tophat with ease of a dental pic and it will not come off on its' own. (at least mine hasn't)

Oh well I broke down and ordered the adjustable top hat from airguns of Texas. It comes with three different size inserts and a blank. He was such a nice guy to talk to and he is including a special insert that is brand new. He said this one will be for more power/hunting. Hopefully it get here fast so I can try it out. Thats it for a while....I think....
