Can someone explain the All topics sub-forum

It says in chrony-logical order at the top. I thought it was a running accumulation of all posts in all the forums with the latest at the top. But when looking through I see posts not in time order.

I like the idea of seeing all new posts in one place without having to look through several sub forums that I might have an interest in.

I myself like how some forums have a “view new post since last visit”. This makes it quick and easy to thumb through just new post since my last visit. No need to scroll threw all threads. So I just look at a few of the threads I am interested in. I do miss some good reading this way.

I agree 100%. I would spend a (lot) more time here if that was the case. I spend all day on GTA and the PA blog as I can see all recent comments,.. no matter how old the original post. I mentioned this before when I first came back on here. Oh well,.. I check in here 1x per day and that is it. My loss? Maybe. To me, it does a disservice to the original poster as when they end up with 10 comments,.. they might have had 100 or 1000 comments over time if their comments could be cycled back to the front of the line for reading. Maybe the IT format just will not allow that now once it has been established. Like I said,... oh well. See ya' all 1x per day. :(

I hate to say it like this but if, if the forum was more centralized, people would get to know each other better.

No matter the format. I personally don't even use the search engine. Yeah I'm old but I'm comparing what worked to what doesn't.

On old Yellowforum anyone punched in one or a few words and everything came up in the search. Title or content, good & bad. You could type in anything you needed to know about airguns, pellets, scopes and read for days. No need to wait on an answer.

I've been around long enough to know how to find info but new people would really benefit from a better search, or worse search that's not as refined but easier to use and gives the words you typed in from every single post ever. It worked well.

As it is right now lots of the best contributors are staying away. I'm sadly finding myself not interested in reading or posting. Maybe it's just me. I don't feel too bad for not jumping in to answer questions I can because I know someone else here will definitely steer anyone willing to listen to whatever they recommend. That's not a bad thing, it just is. But ask yourself if something is allowed because it drives traffic or because it's truly a good thing. I believe the format we old timers are referring to is superior in every way when it comes to building strong educated core members that enjoy writing and reading.
If you doubt what I'm saying you don't understand. Plain and simple there's no more great detailed posts by outstanding members. Who's going to take the time to do a great write up when only a few people that click on PCP or Springer section? Not many. I mean I'm basically going to document how a new gun shoots but it feels like it's all for nought this way.
Peace out Girlscouts.

I'm not one of the "best contributors" — however I will show my good faith in the admin of AGN and will post this Saturday a series of connected articles on pellet specs, on more effective kills when hunting/ pesting, and on hollow point expansion test results. 😊

This is information that is no-where else available in this form, and is based on research, testing, and analysis.

Yes, it would be a shame if these articles would disappear on page 5 of the All-Topics after a week or so, covered up by newer threads. 😟

➔ Because like me, many forum members would like to use the All-Topics to stay up-to-date — but that does not work! 😟

Because the forum programmer has set the All-Topics to sort according to when the original post came out, not according to when the latest post was made on that thread.

That is NOT user friendly. 😟

The relatively small group posting their frustrations with this dis-function here stands for a much much larger group who have resigned themselves to suffer this, or who have not seen this thread (because it is already being covered up by the newer threads!), or who have simply left the forum for greener pastures/ forums elsewhere.

Please, AGN, don't leave us hanging here. 😊 I trust you want to be the best airgun forum out there! A simple button to click to see all the newest posts (in new and older threads) seems like a basic requirement to be the best. 😊
