Can I remove this #@$%%^&!!! AF Talon Safety? >>> And adjust the trigger?

I know, I know, its there for a reason, but....I just bought this older AF Talon with the red tip safety. I am trying to set it up for some friendly 25Y bench rest contests. But everytime I get the shot, I forget to take off the safety. I dont know what it is, I dont forget to take off the safety with my other rifles. I think maybe because there is all the steps to load the Talon and those steps are unique to that rifle. In any event, is there away to take it off or disconnect it? I am hoping its a simple procedure otherwise I will have to get someone to do it. If anyone can give me a step by step, it would be greatly appreciated.

And is there a way to adjust the trigger or mod it so that it has a lighter pull?? If anyone can give me a step by step, it would be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks,

~Phil

As aforementioned, you can greatly improve on the trigger. The work is easy and can be done in about 30 minutes. The biggest improvement is upgrading the sear. It’s called a super sear 2. This upgrade gives you a functional 1st stage feel and allows you to set the break. I had it on all of my AF guns. Talontunes sells the springs but don’t list the sear.
Where to find the upgrade kit? Good question... AoA carried them before AF changed the design to the new trigger. I have the email address of the guy that made them. He may still have some and if you need his contact info, PM me.

First take off that, its the stupid auto safe
You can do easily that after take of the pin holds that

As for the trigger you can "paly" with softer springs from pencils

I fix mine, its not a match trigger but its much better than the original

If you remove the safety block on the older Air Force guns you will also need to lengthen the spring under the hammer release or the gun will not want to cock. Those safeties are really unsafe anyway on the older models.

If you accidentally squeeze the trigger when the safety is on, and then disengage the safety the gun will sometimes fire just from taking the safety off.
