can I build a crosman

Can what I want be made? I shoot my pistol at silhouettes in my back yard more than I use my rifles. My 1712 is more accurate than my PP700 and has a better trigger. So I shoot it the most. I don't know much about crosman custom builds. Nothing actually. Can I make or buy something close to my 1712 that is multi shot? The Prod is tooo long and I wouldn’t enjoy it.

I'm guessing you mean 1701 or 1720

with BNM showing most of there breeches out of stock and that has been that way for awhile, a multi shot breeches are hard to find

there are 2 on Ebay one from Asia and one from Russia but they are pricey

now the 2240 platform can be made to run PCP but after you get all the parts together and get it to work the way you want it, you are going to be half way to the cost of a HW44

is building a pistol fun, sure it is, but buying a great pistol is also fun and the smiles will start right out of the box

AOA had the 44 on sale and Krale has very good prices

so can your project be done maybe but add up the costs first

I did not reply cuz I never heard of a 1712. ;^) The 1701 and 1720 guns have the Crosman breech that is similar to the Marauder with four screws holding it down so that puts them out of the running for the aftermarket breeches. Like has been stated the 2240 has an aftermarket Taiwan made repeating breech it's a nice breech but the linkage is just so-so. Still it does werq quite well even with all of the slop. It would also fit the 2300 pistols and Discovery rifles. I just bought one it werqs with the Marauder magazines. CO2 or PCP to 1200psi cuz of the plastic macroline. BNM breeches are much better but more bulky. Seems like there are others around but I does not remember .

This used to shoot 1/2 inch groups at 50yards all day. But since I recently werqed on it it now shoots half an inch at 25yards. Sometimes I wish I would leave things alone but I so wanted a repeater. Looks Like I have more werq to do yet.

my good friend Dave Larson in Montana just got one a few weeks back and he has lets say some very nice PCP guns

many are souped up by AZ but I have never seen him as excited by any one of them as his new HW44

you are right, a bit odd looking but they seem to be a pellet stacker and there is a guy on Ebay in the UK making two different shoulder stocks, 3D printed

they have power of a rifle, a great trigger, as I'm told and very accurate

I would have to see how much it would cost to make a PCP 2240 from scratch with a multi shoot breech, I'm thinking half the price of a 44 but was that money well spent

in any case here is that breech from Russia

and from Asia

Oops, I guessI can't type. I was talking about a 1701P. I thought about trying a 1720T but dont know if I would like it as good as the 1701 since the 1720 would be longer. I would like a multi shot but I can't get past the looks of the HW44. It looks ugly and chunky.

thanks

Then maybe you should consider a Ataman AP16 compact. I consider it the best most ergonomically correct PCP pistol ever made. It’s not cheap but just like the HW44, it’s a buy it and shoot it gun. No need to mess with it.

All three the 1701,1720 and the P'rod use the same valve. That said, you could either just buy a P'rod and swap the OEM tube for a 1701 and shorten the barrel, or buy a P'rod top end for what you have and shorten the barrel to your likes. The Big But here is that with either of these solutions you will end up with a .22 as I don't believe the P'rod is available in .177.
