CALLING ALL TEXAS AIRGUNNERS !!

I have a compressor and am in Leander/Cedar Park area, however the problem is it's a Vevor and I've got a limited number of piston seals. For the first piston seal I got a lot of refills, for the second one I only was able to fill my tank once and when I tried it again almost two months later it would only go to 1500psi. I'm thinking of getting a shoebox sometime in the next 6 months, and if I do so I'd have no problem filling the odd tank for other local airgunners-- although given the slow fill times of the shoebox you'd have to leave it overnight.

Not a problem TheManFromGeorgetown! I wish I'd gotten an actual Yong Heng rather than Vevor and I wouldn't be in this situation, but c'est la vie!
I look forward to getting to know some other local airgunners. For PCPs I've got a FX Crown .25 and a .22 Maximus, however I recently let a friend and his father borrow the Maximus as a long term loan to a) get them hooked on airguns, and b) help them thin out the squirrels as their family is in the pecan business.

i'm not far from air force and sun optics (they make the pumps and accessories). i was in there a couple of months ago and they showed me a portable, small, quiet electric compressor that filled those guns quickly. about the price of a tank, as i recall. you might give them a call - (817) 783-6001 . i live close to a paintball place that does fill to 4500 psi , but ive been refilling at my hunting buddy's house - he has a gas powered daystate compressor. i should probably get my tank hydro tested , which i why i go there. i have a hill pump and a sun otpics (benjamin / air force / gun power ) pump - but i'm so out of shape that i'd probably stroke myself out if i pumped like you're doing.

I'm between Bertram and Burnet on 11 acres. I purchased a off brand YH as well.i have # of pcps from 22 to 357. I'm really looking hard at the Texan 357 after purchasing a used Bulldog.

Tazhunter0, how do you like the Texan 45 SS? I was leaning toward a Texan 357 and adding a Donnyfl.

If you can purchase an AAA .357 Slayer, you'd be happy.

I like my Texan SS. Actually thinking on buying another one in .257 cal. Shooting pigs and yotes mainly. Hopefully will be doing a upgrade to 4500psi before long.

Guys we need some additional airgunners to compete here in Texas. It’s a good time with a lot of good folks. Y’all owe it to yourselves to make it out. Here are the details:

Rimfire and high-power airgun Bench-Rest Silhouette competitions are held the first Saturday of each month at the Central Texas Rifle & Pistol Club near China Spring, Texas (just west of Waco). The matches start at 9 AM; shooters should try to arrive by about 8:30. Non-club-members are welcome; the gate will be open for the match.

Rimfires are limited to .22 Long Rifle. No HYPER velocity loads allowed (high- velocity is okay). Airguns are limited to 100 foot-pounds, no larger than .30 caliber, and lead PELLETS only.

Scopes must be set to no higher than 16X in the match. Scopes without a 16X factory marking must be set to the next lower factory marking.

All shooting is from concrete bench-rests. A simple sandbag is allowed under the fore-end; only the shooter’s off hand is allowed under the butt-stock. No kind of mechanical rests, bi-pods/tripods, or remote triggers are allowed.
Targets are 1/10 scale, regulation airgun-sized silhouettes. There will be silhouette swingers at each distance for sighting shots.

Matches are 40 shots- 10 shots each at 60 yard chickens, 75 yard pigs, 90 yard turkeys, and 100 yard rams. Steel backing plates behind the silhouettes show your misses. Spotting scopes and spotters are allowed. At a start signal, shooters have 10 minutes for unlimited sighting shots at silhouette swingers, AND THEN one shot at each animal for record.

There will be wind flags at the range. No other wind flags are allowed. Rimfire repeaters must be singly-loaded in this competition. Match entry fee is $10 per gun. Competitors may shoot both divisions.

This is a very fun and challenging competition; especially for airguns. As the range has a reputation for challenging winds, airguns of at least .22 caliber and 30+ foot-pounds are recommended (though not required).
Match Winner and Ten-In-A-Row pins are awarded in both the Rimfire and Airgun divisions.
