Call me.......

Wow, sorry to hear that. I feel its a matter of time before it happens to us all.

Why is that? Old age is the only reason I see stopping for myself. One door closes another opens. There are always going to be pests that need to be eliminated. Just need to find out where.

Why is that? Because society is changing, and gun rights are always on the defense these days. Airguns are the next frontier for people who take issue with thinks they go "pop." It's sad.

Guns don’t have rights. People have rights. There is no such thing as “gun rights”. Because it’s more palatable for 2nd Amendment hating politicians and mass media to say your taking away gun rights, as opposed to “peoples/citizens rights”. Vigilance and the exercise of rights is the key. Also teaching the next generation like many here on AGN do.

Semantics aside, we were both still speaking of the same things. I was not insinuating that random objects have rights. People have rights that were not given to them by politicians. TomAto/Tom"ah"to.

@ptthere, I was not saying anyone insinuated anything. But semantics? Words mean something or use to. The “gun rights” mantra is a prime example. We don’t say “knife rights” etc... it is not a tomato/toemato type thing. Everyday I appreciate my job as a cabinetmaker more and more because we work with numbers. There is no leeway if the required conditions are not met. You get your plans see the conditions you must meet and then achieve them... no wordplay allowed... just results. But yes we agree we need to keep vigilant and exercise our rights as “recognized” by the US Constitution.

You don't mention contesting it or finding out if it is actually an official policy or just an individual with a bias acting on their own?

How about trying to go educate them that your not an "assault weapon toting terrorist" and see if they will work with you on a compromise?

Have you contacted your state and federal legislators? The NRA? State hunters associations? Or even find other shooters in your town who will go with you to your City Hall meetings and protest?

Yes, it takes some effort or you can be defeatist and say it will never work.... But that attitude us why 'they' are winning.

I'm not real happy with the NRA and it's bloated pay and perks for it's top executive right now (and I've let them know!!!) but I also send $50 a month to GunOwnersOfAmerica / GOA and I have reached out to both about Airgun issues here in Texas and they responded with help. Do you belong?

We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.

Kinectic45, let me bring you up to speed about this. As posted in the hunting section some weeks back, this property now is owned by the town. There is a public works building planned not very far from where those targets were placed. Ground breaking is slated for early Feb. My town does have a law of no firearms discharge in the town limits. While airguns are not mentioned specifically in the wording, I have to respect the request that I stop firing on their property. There will be eyes over there to see me and possibly bring trouble down on me. As mentioned I have other options nearby for shooting including my 1/3 acre house lot. I can deal with this set back.

With zero chance of getting busted today, I could not resist taking a shot at a close dog. This spring 2019 hatch-ling was crouched near the mound at 40 yards from my front porch. Winds dictated I break the shot on his butt for a front end hit. A single shot try hit center base of neck and passed through. A solid whack and he crawled two feet and expired. There are still two dozen dogs scattered on the acreage.
