California AG Law

When shooting air guns in back yard you should get some wood and a nail gun set up and then when the cops come by you show them you project and explain that the neighbors must have heard the nail gun.

A friend of mine used to set out these when he was shooting crows in his back yard. The funny thing he was a Deputy Sheriff at the time.

I don't think I would go that far but it is funny.

LOL! I do the same thing here in PA when I shoot from inside my garage into the yard. Put some nails into a board outside the shop and run the compressor periodically if anybody is outside. They just mind they're own business. They just think good ole Karl is working on something. Ha!

Every county and city in CA has different laws and regs that apply so you can’t generalize.

But even where is it legally permitted, you may have trouble if neighbors object.

^^^^^THAT!

That being said CA is surprisingly AG friendly/regulation free if you outside of dense population areas. That being said just be aware of surrounding and be safe, no one likes to lose an eye no matter which state it is.

Wow, nice, I was lead to believe it involved airguns as well since the law is aimed at saving the California condor. I guess way back in 2013 governor brown decided to start the no lead for hunting ban because condors were getting poisoned by eating animals shot with lead bullets. Good to know.

Actually, it wasn’t Jerry Brown who got the ball rolling on banning lead ammunition for hunting, it was none other than the great grifter himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, when he signed into law Assembly Bill 821 in 2007. At that time, though, only certain areas of the state were off limits to lead hunting ammunition. Now, of course, it’s the entire state.

For now…

Rest assured, it will be just a matter of time before the “clueless” people in the state legislature start working on restrictions. All it will take is for one foolish individual to misuse his airgun and then those same “clueless” lawmakers will punish all of us.

Just like they always do.
