Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph connection to Galaxy S7

Bought a Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph strictly for the feature to send the information to my cell phone or even my tablet. The chrony reads relatively close to what my shooting chrony reads but will not connect to my Galaxy S7, old S4 or my Tab S. Wasted 3 hours looking and trying solutions with no luck.Already emailed the app creator and will call Caldwell first thing in the morning, but someone with experience would be much better Help please.

"rgerling"I have the caldwell also, mine will not work on my galaxy note 2 , but does work fine on my wifes galaxy s4. I believe you have to have your add blocker turned off in your phone settings . I would turn that off then uninstall the app then download it again.
I will definitely try it, but did not know the S7 even has a ad blocker...lol Would it be listed in the apps? I haven't see it, or maybe in the phone programming that I will have to chase down to find it. Where was it in your wife's S4 because I used mine for almost 4 years and never saw it... Guess it very well maybe google time.
Thanks for passing that along,
Charles

"gorgata"your using the 35mm plug in correct

Using the 25" long cord that was in the box, appears to be 35mm, but there is an extra stripe on it, one more than on the cord I keep in the truck to play music thru the stereo from the phone. Which makes me wonder if that in itself may be the problem. If the jack on the phone is set up for the standard 35mm stereo plug and the chrony cord has an extra contact on the plug. But just looked at the earbuds that came with the S7, it has the same configuration as the one on the chrony cord.I had not even opened the ear buds that came with the phone till just now. But the cord could well be bad, wouldn't be the 1st time that has happened to a new product.
Am I grasping for straws now?? :)

"Dirte"Call Caldwell they will send (free) the updated "usb" cable which now works with mine. This is a well known issue. The usb cable works.... The headphone jack will not on some android products.
Where does the USB plug into? I guess the charging port on the phone but where on the chrony? Greatly appreciate the information. I just wonder why this isn't on their website or perhaps on the app somewhere?
Thanks

Yes! The usb goes into the charging port. They actually send you two cables as you can see in the picture. They probably don't advertise this due to everyone would want one...... need it or not.
