You should try CROSMAN Premier Hollowpoints and the 7.4gr (specifically) CROSMAN pointed must be the 7.4gr. from Wal-Mart. They're cheap and you'll probably get tighter groups. Yo!

I have those for the .22 but not the 177. I'll be on the lookout for next time I'm there.
I want to tell you one of my guns the Beeman p17 is shooting those flat pellets in a tumble. They always tumble out of that barrel got any clues on what's happening.
