Buying abroad (combo deals)

I have to admit I don’t know much about purchasing complete kits or combo kits from Europe. I have purchased several spares including barrels and triggers from the UK in the past decade or two with no problems.

If I am not mistaken, don’t US import laws restrict the importation of scopes? If so, as silly as it may seem, does it apply to rifle/scope combo deals? I am looking to potentially purchase from one of the big EU dealers. Frankly, I don’t even care for the scope. I suppose I could place a note with my order to leave the scope behind if it is an issue.

So, what’s the consensus? Will customs hold up (or seize) my order due to the scope? Does the fact that it is mounted make it OK? Or, do I have it all wrong regarding importing scopes?

They only sieze inbound airgun LDCs and or airguns with LDCs attached to them at US Customs and put your name and address added to the watched persons of interest list in their National Federal database.

Well with this said, what do you think customs would define a springer with a barrel weight such as the Walther LGU has? Its not really an LCD, but one could stretch the definition to make it one I suppose.

And if they do consider the weight on the end to be an LDC, how do dealers such as Pyramyd Air and AOA circumnavigate this gray area?

They are AirGUN Dealers.

I get it... I suppose buying in bulk helps. Rhetorical question here, but do Airgun dealers require a license. I’m getting of topic (my own topic).

Thanks,

Now when the AOA inbound international shipments go through customs I wouldn't think they would even bother to open the boxes because the recipient is an AIRgun dealer.
