Bullpup on a weight loss program

Picked up an inexpensive bullpup in a trade and thought this sure seems like it has a bunch of excess weight it doesn't need. I also like darker stocks much better. So I took some weight off and did a bit of refinishing while I was at it

12oz might not seem like a lot, but it's 30% of the original weight. I was hoping for a lb like I got with the MRod, but that was a full size stock too.

what kind of gun is it

Thanks Doug - I was hoping that sanding the name off the side would make it a bit less conspicuous.

I also wound up getting rid of the shroud (that did nothing) and doing some work to the scope rail. Kral left a bit to be desired in that area. Nothing that a little manual labor couldn't take care of though. It's a work in progress.

BigTin, is that a kral p/brker ? nice customizing.

Yes it is, thanks Roger...………………...your Welcome Rob, my K P/B was really accurate at 60 yds, before it started leaking one day when I aired it up, always thought about trying to fix it , but the Zbroia Kozak's came along, & when I get a chance to shoot , it is one of them, & I am with you on the darker stock , looks great, I think I am going to have (your old)# 2 Kozak 's stock dipped in C/Fiber

BigTinBoat,

Awesome! It's nice to see you tinkering with your PB,
and great results! Very nicely done! If this one shoots as nicely as it looks, you'll be in biz!

I absolutely love mine!

🙂👍

Sam -

Thanks - seeing how much you loved yours was part of the reason I decided to go ahead and make the trade.

How is your barrel inside the scope rail? On mine the shroud set screw was messed up and the shroud did nothing so I took it off. I noticed that the barrel came up quite a bit without the shroud pulling down on it. It was then hitting the side of the scope rail. It's not like my mutant or WC as they were both tight inside the hole and clamped. With the PB I loosened up the scope rail and was able to center the barrel within it, but then all I had to do was "bump" the gun and the barrel would make an annoying "rattle" inside the bracket. I took the barrel off and drilled/tapped 3 holes on the front section of the scope rail. (top, left and right) Then I centered the barrel in the bracket as best I could. Then I tightened each screw to keep the barrel right where it was. It's much firmer now.

BigTinBoat,

Welcome, and right on man! It's really cool to hear that I was a bit of help in your decision to try these PBs out!
Hopefully, you'll end up loving yours as much as I do mine! When they're set up the way you like them,
and shooting well, they're sooo much fun!

Hey, not only do I have a good answer for you, here's a photo to go along..

When I removed the shroud to directly connect my suppressors, I needed a way to 'suspend' the barrel..
My rimfire target guns have 'floating barrels', so, I sort of wanted to try to do the same thing..
Suppressor weight would cause barrel droop, so, to counter that, I added a rubber-grommet inside of the front band.

It works AWESOME!
The OD is just big enough to seat perfectly inside of the front band,
and the ID is just a bit small, so, there's a nice tight fit around the barrel..
Being soft rubber, it allows the barrel to 'float' nice and centered,
so there is no worries about it being pushed in any direction..

I got a DonnyFL "Extender" more or less as a joke - to put on my pistol,
but, in the end, it'll be fitted to my .25 cal Kral Nemesis..

For the first mock-up, I threw it on my PB, and took this pic: 🤣

Overkill? Psh.. There's no such thing! Hahaha

Okay, back to reality..

IF you'd like to get a factory/OEM front barrel band for the NON-Shrouded setup,
you can actually order them through Pyramid Air [I'll probably do this eventually]

They're called:
"Kral Barrel band (Axis Apparatus) for non shrouded rifles"
Here's the link to them:
https://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Kral_Barrel_band_Axis_Apparatus_for_non_shrouded_rifles/8793

They're in stock now, and at $20.00 they're definitely a nice part worth having..

🙂👍
