Bucket of Rats

I went to the dairy last night on a mission to only kill rats. Stopped by the drive through and ordered a bucket to go. Oh my god! there are so many rats here that its incredible. I felt like one of the guys on the youtube ratting videos. Whats in the bucket represents half of my kills. I slew at least 30 rats last night. They are literally everywhere, most shots where from 15 to 30 yards. The Compatto has been merciless this year.

It must be a warm weather dairy thing? The dairies I go to don't have rats.

I'd jump at the opportunity to shoot them.

Hate rats! I do hunt rats a lot (I live in a Forest) but this season I have kill like 70 in total (in like 4 months) you did half of that in one night! damn! jajaja The good thing is that foxes and Owls thanks me the free meal!

Bob, it’s not warm here in NYS... This dairy is far older and larger than my first permission. The pests here have had free reign for a long long time. I just walk from one rat hot spot to another using a green or red light atop my Compatto to pick them off. At the ranges I’m shooting the rats I’ve gone to 14.3 gr. Crosman Premiers, can’t stand to use my JSBs on them. On this particular night the coyotes were yipping and howling up a storm all around the place. I feel lucky to have a place to go after rats, the only critters I can kill without any remorse at all.

so ur not using a night vision setup? just colored spot light? I wanna try ratting I live in the south and chicken farms everywhere . someone gave me a green spot light and my gun has red illuminated retical I was just high lighting trees at night and seems like it would work for night ratting??
