BSA Sweet 22 actually a good cheap scope

Okay I know there are going to be some people who will say there is no such thing as a good cheap scope butttttttttt…….

In the spirit of buying a 25 Gauntlet I wanted to see if a person on a tight budget could get into PCP this is a $50 dollar retail scope that can easily lend itself into the airgun world

I purchased the Sweet 22 because it comes with a set of 11mm scope rings that fit the Gauntlet very well. The short stature of this scope allows it to be mounted in front of the clip and the eye relief for me at least was perfect. The bell of the scope sets in front of the clip and the clip slides in like it was made for each other.

It has a parallax adjustment down to 7.5 yards (actually closer) True the 7x isn't for birding but for Squirrel or other like size animal is plenty

In my case I only had to adjust my windage 4 clicks left and elevation 5 down to lock in at 40 yards. The elevation turret is easy to turn (maybe a little to easy) with crisp clicks and no slop, The windage is capped but again nice crisp clicks with no slop

The Zoom and focus are both smooth and with just enough tension that you don't have to worry about it getting moved on an accident while at the same time easy to adjust.

The Glass is nice and clear even out in ranges of 100 yards I can see where I have punched paper with the .25 it comes with three turrets that could be taped for your yardage

While the scope doesn't have Mil Dot its a good compact hunting scope with some impressively clear glass and smooth adjustment for the price

My only ehhh about the whole package was the elevation turret does turn easily and could be bumped and changed accidently

Purchased no less than 4 Sweet 17 and the Sweet 22 scopes near 15-20 years ago. IIRC paid back then a tad less than $50 apiece. Screw on lens covers, 2 sets of turrets based off bullet weights that are per-calibrated to be utilized as BDC. Duplex reticle of modest width being a tad wide IMO. Adjustable objective for parallax. Glass not too bad in all honesty and doable using a .22RF for sure ... .17HMR / Rem etc ... not so much.

Sad fact is to be a useful optic one needs a range finger so one can dial in the BDC. No range finder your really guessing be the A.O. is not very accurate for the task.
