Broke my Impact X, .25, 600, slugs

Hello. 

Shooting my Impact X today when suddenly i started getting a blast of air on my cheek each shot. Found this on my bench under my gun. What is it and what did I do to break it?

Are you talking about after you've cocked it and are then coming forward again? The only "resistance" i feel is right towards the end of the throw when it feels like the lever is going "over center" to lock in place. Watching the probe go in to the breech i feel no resistance until the above happens (though i really don't know how far in that o-ring would be, if I'm understanding the arrangement of parts correctly.)

And, is those just a matter of pulling the barrel and dropping that o-ring on/in the breech? 

What would have caused this one to fail? This gun is only a couple of weeks old.

Breech oring. Replace it. I’m not sure but I think 1.5 x 6.5 mm. Order the Viton 75 duro orings, they’ll last longer.

I found Viton 75 on amazon but there are many specs to enter before ordering. Any idea what i should choose?

Thanks. Found a little bag of orings around the house. Musta been from one of my guns; maybe even the Impact 4or5 tannish rings and one black, all the same size. 

Regardless, seemed about the right size so i put the black one in the breech and all is working well again. 

Ill order some extras. Thanks again!

Are u sure it's the breech o ring? 

Could be valvestem oring aswell. 

My impact had that problem a while ago. 

The air kept puffing from were the mag is. My 1st toughts was the breech oring. 

But it happened to be a problem with a oring at the end in the valverod/stem.

Yes, that totally would have made sense too! Fortunately i seem to have gotten lucky following the breech oring suggestions. That said, your suggestion definitely taught me another possibility though should i ever start feeling that puff of air on my cheek again. Thanks!

Well … one things for sure … if you pull the barrel, you should be able to see the breech o-ring in there … if it ain't in there … guess what??? It's the breech o-ring! Ta daaaah!

Yep, that’s the way it worked. Of course, when all this started, I had no idea where to look, or for what (hard to recognize the lack of something as “something”, when you’re new to a platform).

Thats what my wife said. Thanks for your help. 

I have owned a impact for 3 years without replacing any O rings, lost count of the pellets ive sent through it (12,000-15,000) ? I think maybe because I wash and lube my ammo. I use napier power pellet lube.
