Brocock sniper xr.22

Donny at Baker airguns did a review of the new model about a year ago: https://www.bakerairguns.com/general/new-brocock-sniper-xr-side-lever/. He described the changes as: “Not so obvious are some other improvements such as a new choked Lothar Walther barrel, an improved trigger, and an updated Huma regulator/hammer/valve system. Brocock is also touting the XR line as more precisely machined and now modular…meaning components of different model guns can be swapped with each other”.

I think you will like it, I do own the Sniper XR in .177 and it is great gun imo, very accurate and always keeps the same POI from day to day. If you like to tinker and tune, it will likely be more work than with your FX. I haven’t had to tune mine, why mess with success

Good point here.I don't have a need to tune i just like to have rifle that is accurate, always holds it's zero and that has better ergonomics then impact. Also a scope can be mounted lower and bantam is almost the same length as Impact with 700 mm barrel.

Thank you Aimright

My .22 Bantam HR not the XR has been solid from day one, almost three years and thousands of pellets down range. Zero issues, I regularly plink out to 102 yards on my home range. The XR is more of a good thing, not really a tinkerers platform but a no nonsense PCP that simply performs. It is very quiet with the stock shroud. A DonnyFl Tanto makes it quieter still but adds length and isn't needed. Two 5 shot groups at forty yards today, bipod, fist as rear rest.

Thanks L.Leon

Some of your posts here got me thinking abot that Brocock.

I like reading forum members reviews and opinions more then those you tube comercials.

I was betweem Daystate Revere and Bantam but now i am leaning more towards Bantam because of shorter length and shootcount. But i really like the looks of that Revere.Accuracy should be more or less the same.

Those are nice groups.what is your average group size at 100y in good conditions?

Also did you try new H&n baracuda 18 gr pellets in yours?

Marko, I don't shoot for groups much at 100 yards. Most of my groups are shot from 40-60 yards, to confirm zero. My best ever five shot group at 104 yards was 1.5" ctc. sending JSB Exact Jumbo 18s. I have had four shots sub MOA at 100 yards and then blow the fifth shot out past an 1"-1.25" Almost everyday I plink at these two targets at 102 yards, always striving for and mostly getting first round hits. We know that even a mild wind will blow the JSB 18s around quite a bit at 100 yards. I bet a good shooter in good conditions, sending good ammo can get MOA at 100 yards, I just don’t think it is something to expect to do with regularity. The wind is subtly wicked at 100 yards.

If you can hit those small targets at 100 y most of the time that is excellent.I just wanted to know what can i expect.I owned many airguns untill today but one of my favorites were Fx Royale 400 and Fx Streamline. They were all consistently grouping around 1,5"at 100y in no wind conditions. And i never need to rezero these pcp's.I was hoping for simillar performance from Brocock in a little more compact package.

I just ordered the rifle and will post my opinion when i get to know it better.

Thanks for your time and enjoy your Bantam and share with us like you did in the past.

I have the xr concept lite in 22 cal I have it tuned for 30 shots on that small cylinder, it love's the cheap crosman hollow points, I have walnut trees on my back property that I consistently take the walnuts out at 50 yards plus...excellent target practice for pesting later in the fall....great guns.

That is great it seems like everyone likes their Brocock. Can't wait to receive mine. Thanks
