Sorry for the late reply guys... I’m not getting notifications about posts here, so I guess I need to check some settings.

I like the Aztec Emerald very much... but agree that eye positioning is quite sensitive. Once you get your eye in the sweet spot, the scope is bright and sharp and accurate. But I don’t have a lot of experience with scopes, so as Hawkeye says, it may be that Athlon and Sidewinder scopes are a better choice?

Hawkeye... do you have a lot more leeway with eye positioning on the Athlon and Sidewinder? Which models of those do you have?

Another question - I don’t have a chrony; does anyone know what maximum velocities the Bantam Hi-Lite in .25 cal. gives with 25 gr. JSP pellets?

DHart,

What damage did the Trident take in the fall? I also own a Bantum (in .22) with the trident. All I hear is hammer hit and the strike down range. You have me concerned about durability now...

Im up in MA like the other member. I have to call in to AOA and take a number for call back not as much fun...

Apparently, the threaded connection to the Trident got bent and needed to be replaced. AOA replaced it and the rifle is shooting ragged holes again. I got lucky. Never again will I leave the rifle sitting in a precarious position while I step inside.

Thanks Bob... of course I feel like such an idiot for leaving the rifle in a rather precarious position on the Caldwell sand bag rest. And sure enough, right when I went inside the house, a breeze kicked up and over my new rifle went. My wife saw it happening through the window and my heart sunk when she told me. I was very fortunate that so little damage was done and pretty easily remedied. That will never happen to me again.

I have a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24 X 56 on my Bantam 22 and an Athlon Argos FFP 6-24 X 50 on my Wildcat 22. The eye positioning on both is not nearly as sensitive as the Aztec. I prefer the Hawke over the other two.
