Boss regulated 500 Whos done it?

Great News Then 54-55 ft lbs is possible with adjustments,not internal modifications ,really nice from factory, and I'd like to be able to have that gun back anytime Accuracy still good I take it?and what did this do with the power adjuster fps on the lighter setting? with kings 25gr.was it usable?,I went from 70yrds of trees to shoot @ now10 acres square no trees lots of wind. I do have access to a 100x100 building and a 500ft long slight hill I"m trying to stretch out on ,Really nice to know I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

My package arrived! c/f bottle,Boss reg.shroud cone w/o notch.I checked Tracking-Monday ,indicated it was in town,so I took barrel off .apart,re ringed it.Cone is more of a flat-black finish,same finish as my hawk scope,not the same finish as my shroud,and not threaded for shroud like the notched one,just locktite on this one as far as the finish. I cared for about 30 seconds.no notch and fit perfect.46.5" now,and cant tell from 3' its synthetic anyway. Bottle had 220 in it,Bonus! swap took 30 sec.maybe,And man for only being Quote! read it ,a pound difference,and its only 2" shorter 10.5"measured it,I like it a a lot. If I'd bought the walnut stock?? Anybody know why the 400 and boss get c/f and the 500 gets alum.Or am I going to find out the hard way? The boss reg is supposed to be 160bar,I'm thinking I'll wait for my test block,check and read stock bar and check for( creep first shot low)before removal and switch to boss..Anybody know the thread on the nipple that gentleman on YouTube with all the very useful vids uses to extract the reg from block?what no fishing line?at first I thought it was the fill valve from the gun ,but now not sure.Any good tricks would be greatly appreciated

 Great News-Thanks-I was hoping that was the ticket, Tiny thing. O-RING SIZE ?external,internal ? I see the boss. pdf.has the reg. in it , and in the sub.section,arrow pointing to it, in the o-rings location but.states its a reg.only. And under reg. Fx website,we have install only, no o-rings indicated,on that page.And a web search got me to couple posts here but dead ends,on size fx impact was indicated to be different looking,than boss. in one post,and fx WCat is 7.65x1.78cs?same post.I will say. FX guns seem alot more end user friendly(parts availability,service help info.)Because all the- info..here @AGN !!! AoA, helped me(,always),And now even they have a ton of helpful vids ..I,m still really miffed over the 6.35x1.27cs-breech .25cal. rarer than unobtainium- I did manage to get 25 of though-post here led me to Maryland metrics o-ring ,very nice guy,once he had trouble from his supplier went on a rampage and called me back bought all 40 he found somewhere and sold me 25 he said there- now I have some too! Boss reg.is in = Thanks for the help!-if someone does happen to know o-ring for reg. Boss/500 (external o-rings) .New one had a flap cut in the inner one,and the one I removed had ,same thing .Anyway Results with 34gr. Min. h/s = 712fps.Max.h/s890s I set fps @855fps.Quote. Which is a nice speed for a st barrel-and OH MY! wind was howling threw the 100x100 building I cheat with(great for testing) bad for improving skill in wind. pulled as many doors down as i could 35 yrds the smallest target spot on a 4pk 3"looks like a green flower pedal sticking out of a hole the size of a .25 ..@ 70yrds half building half wind 14mm total -5 shot group and it was howling in ks today.This is what I dreamed of ,when there was no Impact in sight..Quiet, Light, Big shot count,Long distance,(for me)Hard hitting, Super accurate- .25cal.That will spin the heavy pellet, that has created quite the stir -( 5 years of .177and.22)I get to aim straight at stuff now. PS.I'm pretty sure it was an old post between weaterby and jking that got me to thinking

Ok I have acouple Q.s If someone has the time!Tuning by ear?My 500 stock @45ftlbs sounded like a professional ping pong player- serving the ball,if that makes sense.The closest i can get by ear, puts my pellet speed @865-70 it is very close to h/s adjuster bottom out.and a 1/4 turn more pellet speed starts to get erratic and then slows but @ that setting I get a-lot of the same fps chrony shots.Q is it ok to be that deep in the settings to get(tune)?Seems to fall off reg nice,lots of air to get there!Q,Is 30 cal.spring different?Q.wouldnt the 45cc tube on AoA give same results but less air?

I'm still waiting for more 34s so this was done with kings-I get better numbers with heavies stiction I belive -reg is 141-2ish on the tester,using .25cal hammer/weight ,c/f bottle 240bar after cool from 250 fill-end 155bar if I top off again and shoot 6 clips its still on the reg rolls off from 150bar 939,932,30,27,28,30,27,910@ 141bar--But ES is 20 and the SD is 5 -From 240-155bar its High of 950-low 937 ES 13 and SD of 3 for 55 shots-I Graphed it looking for the sweet spot and it looked a little choppier than I expected, I didnt use the .10th witch do normally help connect fps changes - OK I had shot good groups came home choreographed speed,Took it a part tested reg. pressure.Swapped regs.one creeps bad,and assumed i had set it the same pressure correctly, because when I assimbled the gun it was within 3fps of what I had before swap,and went to shooting a string BAD,It was my birthday eve,after I,d got home,should of went to bed here is a 64 shot superimposed on old string, ES-10 and SD of 2.4 and I was filling the gun and adjusting the hammer, during this string,better but not great,work in progress Please bare with me,apparently I,m not as done as I thought.AGAIN

Advise How No -How I did it -and I didn't and maybe should of ask a Guru first,using past single regulated build( P-rod,)More air flow. Was bought another brass barrel inlet and modified it, Using a dremel tool and made a 3x5mm tapered oval corresponding with the pellet probe hole,and t-port.@160bar I could get 892-3 fps max,@ 150 bar same @ 145 bar 880fps was still in the hammer/spring .While that was fun it was not as productive as I'd hoped accuracy wise.Understandable that you're looking for MORE POWER! it was fun! In my mind,from reading,and shooting experience, minimal on all counts. pellets like to fly 870-880 if possible,The 34 just looked like it should also,not for me.in the kansas winds.turned out 40fps less. I'm aiming to get ES less than 10 and SD of 2 or less @lower energy 53-4 ftlbs for as many shots as I can get,now.If I'm going to modify a part and its an important part ,a mistake means no use till replacement,I,m normally looking at a new one ,While trying not to bugger up the one in my hand

I could not figure out why when I shoot it - It made me want to hold it to the heavens (lion king)and come home chrono string data -and internet data say no,fiddle get tiny bit better go shoot -and amazing, happier yet.While searching for -Whats considered a good SD ,moa gun,ect.couple things clicked,home on chrono procedures,Waiting 15-20 sec between shots.AND DO NOT put your 54ftlb 9ft long gun, barrel 10" from your chrono,for consistent readings- Just shot this a bit ago -SD 2.7 . I like the graph part of this page. I dont Know if its the 480cc bottle P changes or what,but a little more hammer doesnt seem to flatten it out, but I have very consistent lower fps 940-1 fps from 155 bar to 150 for 5 or six shots then normal fps a couple then, falls off reg.drops 20fps that shot, i fill to 240 i'll have 55+shots above 155bar easy. will work on ironing that out.Ps. it/I really shot those groups @ 100, last wk with the creeping reg.I adjusted,that originally came with gun February ,I'll put them in the groups section

No I haven't opened ,power wheel. only the brass barrel inlet a little more,I gained power easily to H 850s L 860s with a 160 bar reg then gained 15fps with inlet modification

April 20 slowed fps alittle more ended up with  falling off reg.And this after a fill and set over night  and according to past strings the 35-40 shot in the middle should be the same,I'll shoot it tomorrow to make sure.here is front to back taped together Looks like ES 8.5 and SD 1.7 both front and tail look promising
