Bore scope anyone?

Have any of you purchased that new Teslong bore scope yet? Only $50.00 on Amazon, I bought one a month ago. It is nearly as good as my expensive Hawkeye one was. I sold that one a couple of years ago. I looked inside of my newer Diana 34 .22 just now. Time for a bronze brush scrubbing again, got lead build up near the breech and choke area. Accuracy is still quite good but I know from experience it will improve after cleaning. Will fit in .20 bores but not .177.

Here is a picture of a Remington 700 chrome moly .260 barrel I retired last week. Has 3220 shots on it.

I got the bore clean and seasoned with 50 shots. Accuracy fully restored, using H&N FTT 14.6 gr. Looks like my choke surface is somewhat rough and already starting to lead foul. Good for another few tins before needing a brush again. Also saw a minor tool ding on a land or groove that will be always be prone to collecting lead. (last two photos) No big deal, the gun plain shoots very well.

You got that right. I once worked at a shop in the late 70's that made EB welded pressure vessels for Uncle Sam. Gradient Lens Company made the semi ridged glass fiber probes we carefully inserted into the assembly to view the interior weld penetration. They cost the taxpayers $1400. each, we broke about two a week. We kept dozens in the inventory. Really fragile back then. We had to supply a video tape of the full interior circumference of the weld for certification.

You have enough give in the cable to rotate the probe 360 without binding up. Removing the mirror is what shows that tunnel vision look. It's useful for end viewing of subjects. I have looked at all my bores up to .338 rifle and .45 pistol. The mirror body is threaded to move in or out to achieve good focus. Mirror orientation on the flex shaft will give a different rotation view. It has a lock collar to keep it in place. I have read of others using tiny o rings to keep the mirror assembly centered in the bore. That sounds like it would be problematic in small bores to me. No plans to try that method.

Just to show the clarity of this tool, here are shots of a 7mm-08 barrel with exactly 4560 shots fired. Now I know why it stopped shooting good.😉

I got curious and asked Teslong customer support if a .17 cal. scope was a possibility. I got this reply today.

Dear Seven,

Thanks for contacting us.

We don't have a .17 size bore scope at this moment.

It has no economic module camera to applied for a .17 size rifle bore scope. It would be very expensive. So we don't have plan to develop it at this stage.

Thank you.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Best Regards
