Blu Balls 2019 at the Mass Rifle Association

You can shoot PCP or spring gun. I will use my spring air rifle and PCP pistol.

What time is the event and will this be bench rest or off-hand only?

Thanks for pictures John. It was lot of fun. Leo took 5 points lead on pistol match and tied Matt on rifle portion for overall top spot. He signed big blue ball and will keep it for a year, when time for new competitors will be presented to claim it next year.

Also, he did it with a Springer, beating all PCP guys. He and Matt had a shoot off with rifles. They were shooting small ice breaker tablets at 50 yards off hand and hitting them about half the time.

Enjoyed shooting the match but my left arm was aching badly after the shoot off with Matt.

20 shots at 11 yards with a pistol at 7/8 inch diameter breath mints. Got 12 out of 20.

20 shots at 28-29 yards with a rifle at 7/8 inch diameter breath mints. Got 14 out of 20.

15 shots at 50 yards with a rifle at 1 1/2 inch diameter wood discs. Got 10 out of 15.

20 shots at 50 yards with a rifle at 7/8 inch diameter breath mints. Shoot off against Matt for high rifle score. He shot 8 and I got only 7.

It was a long day of off-hand shooting. Happy to do it again next year.

For now, I am the keeper of the “Blue Ball of Fame”.

Sounds, and looks, like a lot of fun.

Wish I could have been there.
