BKL Scope Ring Height?

I cheat. I find a picture of the mounts and do relative measurements from the picture.
Example, if the mounts are for a 30mm scope, the size of the hole for the scope equals 30mm (even if in the picture they measure some other value (for example 42mm),
Then that gives me the "scale" for the image... 42mm equals 30mm. 42 divided by 30 equals 1.4. That lets me know to divide every picture measurement by 1.4...So then I measure from the center of the hole, to the base of the scope mount (the flat that rests against the scope, not the lowest point which clamps to the side of grooves on the rifle. Divide that measurement by 1.4 (in the example), and that will give me center of the scope height. As long as you know at least one REAL measurement in an image, you can derive the rest. This is a basic trick that image analyst use in the military all the time.

Thanks. I didn't think about this.

"mmahoney"They are not the same. BKL's website shows how they measure them. I usually use low BKL rings. http://www.bkltech.com/30mm-Scope-Mounts-s/58.htm

Thank you for the link. I'm actually looking for low rings and everyone seems to not offer it or they're out of stock. I actually placed an order for the medium BLK Single Strap Rings yesterday before I read this post. I ordered it from Brownells because I needed to order another item to keep the shipping low. I just checked BKL's site and their drop down menu for shipping doesn't offer Guam as a destination. I would probably have to call in to check if they will ship to Guam but I hate doing that. Story of my life. My brother in Washington is visiting for the summer in a couple weeks so I'll have him order it and bring it with him. He owes me some cash anyways lol. Thanks guys.
