Bizill's Mrodair CP1-M pistol arrives

Got mine today, boys 'n girls. Had to tighten the plastic cover on one of my 2 magazines to get it to insert correctly then straight away I put it into action. Pretty cool little bugger from 10 yards but like you all I ran out of site travel so I decided to yank the Bushnell (real hologram) Holosight and weaver to Picatinny adapter/riser off my Prod and placed it on the pistol. Now we're talkin'! Though I have to admit, I love playing with iron sights. If I were to keep the iron sights I would have wanted to shave down the front sight blade as it's a bit fat for my liking. Then shim it as others have stated.

Next order of business was tame the bark as it was definitely louder than I thought it'd be for a .177. I decided to also steal my DonnyFL Sumo LDC off my Prod since I have a Ronin inbound for my Taipan Veteran. I'll take the Sumo off the Vet and put it on back on the Prod when the Ronin shows up. Now, how to attach it to the CP1-M? I had an old threaded 1/2-20 Prod adapter I had made at work since Donny didn't have any at the time and opened the bore of it to fit over the pistol's barrel. Then I cross-drilled it and threaded it for a set-screw to hold it to the barrel. Crap, I ain't got no set-screws on-hand! Wait, the one that holds the front site to the pistol, duh.

So luckily that went smoothly and because my Sumo is set up for .25 cal, there is no worry of any pellet clipping. Though the way I bored out the hole and used a set-screw it ended up being pretty concentric. No worries of pellet clipping in any way. Does the Sumo get the job done? Very much so. The little pistol is quite loud and I do NOT consider it to be backyard friendly in the least. Now it is quite friendly.

I think this guy will be my go-to for close range up to 15 yards. It'll be quicker for me to grab than the P-rod. I did a quick 3 shots through the chrony to see where it stood out of the box and 3 shots came back as 505fps, 504 and 505 again. Got the 40 pack of powerlets and already had some Crosman Destroyers on hand.

Oh, forgot to mention, for some reason I couldn't get the magazine out for the life of me. Instead of looking online for a solution I decided to just remove the barrel. That's when I notice the breech o-ring had like a chunk flattened on it. I didn't have any proper o-rings so I reached for my cheapie Harbor Freight nitrile o-ring set and found one small enough for now, but it does cause the pellet to feed roughly. I'll have to get a proper o-ring to replace it in time. It doesn't seem to hurt accuracy at close range but you can feel the pellet going in rough and trying to go in cock-eyed.

The grip does leave a bit to be desired, that's for sure. I'd rather use my Glock hand hold as that's how I like shooting pistols. I may or may not shave her down as others have done. I'm not sure if I'll be doing the 2 stage trigger mod either. It's okay as it is. I didn't bust out the Lyman trigger pull gauge yet but I don't mind where it sits now. It's nowhere near as gritty as others have commented, though that too is suggestive.

All in all I enjoy her. I really need to work on my pistol shooting as I haven't done it in years. I was hitting pretty much bullseyes at 10 yards and haven't tried a rest but I gotta still say, I like it.

May be old news to some of you but new to me, don't try to use Crosman Destroyers in these magazines. They don't feed correctly and get hung up. I had myself some Premier hollow points with the nice, rounded nose and they seem to feed without issue. The Destroyers are more like wadcutters, their shape, anyway. I'm not sure if any of you are having any luck feeding wadcutters of any brand through these magazines or not.

It's dark now but I took a quickie test shot out back and hit within a half inch of what I was aiming at at about 17 yards. This was obviously off-hand and couldn't see the target the best. I do believe I'm gonna be having some fun with this little bugger.

I call it as loud as my factory shrouded P-rod, perhaps more so. Maybe mine is wasting extra air. Haven't tried a single thing to tune it just yet. I did however easily hit myself a sparrow about 18 yards up high in a tree that I truly did not expect to hit. That may not be much of a feat to you but I'm pleasantly surprised by it. I might have low standards. But no way in hell it is backyard friendly in my neighborhood. It is after an LDC. I'm just using Crosman Premier hollow points as I've had luck with them in .22 with the Prod.
