Bird Feeder/ Cow Feeder Protection

Thanks Bob. Then I guess I’ll have to go PCP for my indoor work. Some times I just like the simplicity of the spring guns. That little HW 30 is a handy thing. I’ve got it shooting accurately at about 630 FPS (177) which at 30 to 40 ft is ideal. Now if I don’t miss with the PCP no problem BUT I miss some. Fact is I miss the close ones sometimes more then the long shots. The concept of the pellet crossing the line of sight twice comes into play. Some times on the close ones you have to hold high not low . AND if you misjudge the distance you can miss. Or I can anyways

Yes, the close shots can be tricky for sure.

This is how I setup my X-Sight for close range work:

I have two different profiles for the Streamline. One is normal zero distance, 35 yds in my case. Rifle is on high power with ballistic calculator active.

My other profile is for indoor, low power use. I set the range in the X-Sight to minimum (27 yds) and turn the ballistic calculator off. Then I zero the rifle at 15 yds on Low power. This means that I have to hold over a little bit for the closer shots. If I have a shot at say 20 to 25yds, I just hold over a little bit.

Turning the ballistic calculator off is important so the X-Sight doesn't adjust the reticle for the 27 yd distance when you've zeroed at 15. This also means that you'll have to calculate the holds yourself when shooting at high angles of incline.
