Big Blast in a box 4/21/15

Charlie sent me some boxes via USPS yesterday and I managed to get outside after work and shoot a few Big Blast bottles inserted in them.
I was hoping for a new type of corn bomb where it would scatter corn for the deer that feed in my back yard. Had five of them out there munching on the corn tonight while I watched and talked to them off the back porch.

I tried three different times with the boxes that had voids filled with corn and all three turned out to be duds? I'm thinking the corn is packed so tight around the bottle it won't let the bottle burst like it normally does?

But the boxes without the corn are really awesome when they explode. I sent Charlie some video in hopes he will edit something nice for us, since I'm not the editing guru!

But here's the best video of the 5 taken with Renae shooting the FX .22 cal at them.

And pics of the bottle in the box surrounded by corn.

I think you're right about it being too tightly packed.
What if you just filled the opposite comers instead of all four?....or maybe just fill the bottom with a little, then plug the sides with a paper towel so the corn stays at the bottom. Close the box, and turn it upside-down then shoot it???
I enjoyed you video
Camp Fussell seems like a great place to have fun!
Look forward to a successful Corn Bomb...lol

Maybe if you tried an open top steel cylinder just bigger than the 2L bottle and three or four inches taller. Drill a hole big enough for the pellet but not too big, maybe 3/4 inch or so half way up the cylinder. Then make a tin foil bowl or just a big paper towel that's deep enough to hold a handful or two of corn that wraps over the sides to keep it from falling in. It should direct enough of the pressure upwards to blow that corn all over the place. Come to think of it you could use pvc pipe, maybe 6" or 8" but be sure to shoot through the hole.

Fussell,

I actually did FILM the 2 shots. 1 at 60 yards and one at 205 yards. I didn't put any UMPH into the talking in the video cause i did not know what to expect.....lol! I've even edited the video already but like i said, its KINDA BLAND except the BOOM of the 2 bottles. I only filled the bottles to about 80-85 psi, but they gave a satifactory boom non the less. I will go a full 90 from here on out now that i'm more comfortable. I used my usual 2 camera setup and it came out well.

I called the experience CONFETTI as i wrapped it in the Blue SHOP paper towels that you get from the automotive store. And it worked like a charm. There was tons of blue CONFETTI on the ground. Then i got an idea for both of us, i'm going to try and find realCONFETTI and fill the bottles halfway with it. Like you do with popcorn. You've got the POPCORN series and i will have the CONFETTI series........lol
