Better groups after adjusting the hammer spring on .22 FX Wildcat [Pictures]

Just wanted to share this with Wildcat owners interested in adjusting the hammer spring...

It's been about five months since I got my .22 Wildcat from AOA. I have been very happy with it and it has been problem free so far.

However, like many of you, I like tweaking my guns, so I decided to adjust the hammer spring and increase the power to see what it does to my groups.
The gun came shooting JSB Heavies (18.1 grain) at 870 fps, and it was pretty accurate. I turned the hammer spring screw all the way in and it is now shooting the same pellets at 895 fps.
Took it to the range today and noticed that my groups got even better and more consistent.

Below are three 8 shot groups at 50 yards and the last one is a 5 shot group also at 50 yards, outdoors with light winds. All are under 0.5"

I took down two crows today at 103 yards (same spot twice), clean kill.

"Frank2533"Good shooting my dude! Thats i slick looking gun! How you like that scopes it that the FFP model?
Thanks bud.

Yes, it is their 3-15x42 FFP model. It's a great scope. I was planning on buying their 5-20x50 for my .25 W.A.R. Warp Long, but unfortunately it only focuses down to 50 yards, as Michael mentioned in one of his posts. I am waiting for the new Vortex Viper PST Gen2 to appear in stock. That one focuses down to 25 yards.

I would say you are a better shooter than me. My .22 WildCat came in around 910 with JSB 18.1. Accuracy was good but not consistent, so lowered it to 880. Once I did this it's now very accurate and consistent. I have found since then that the JSB 14.3 are even more accurate. Haven't checked the FPS on the 14.3 but I suspect it's back to the 900+ so go figure.

Hey buddy. Was it difficult to turn the hammer spring ? Heard a few stories where the thread strips and all. I wanted to turn up my hammer spring but have been avoiding it.
