Best Texan Suppressor

I have the one on my Texan 357 from Hunter Supply that’s a bolt on and it quiets it down nicely and about half the cost of a DonnyFL but I also know the DonnyFL Emperor with the adaptor would be a bit quieter being I already have one on a Hatsan Bully in .30 which is just as loud as the Texan 357 without a LDC. Here is a pic when I 1st tried the Hunter Supply LDC and did a 60 yard zero.

Coldair I couldn’t agree more but the reason I went with the one from Hunter Supply is it was half the cost of a Emperor and adaptor and I was buying some slugs from them, if I would of bought my Texan new I more then likely would of went with the DonnyFL on it, 125.00 difference is a lot of ammo and my Texan .357 likes the 127gr Hunter Supply slug, 60 yard 4 shot group with LDC and tethered to the 90ci tank at 2900psi.

Just as an update....He actually has an Emperor Version3 out and I went ahead and got the Ronin extender to go with it which will make it that much quieter. Talked to Donny who is a super nice guy and was really helpful in the decision. Cant wait to get the items in the mail.

Without calling Donny what did he do to make a version 3 Emperor if you don’t mind me asking.

As far as I can tell....the v3 allows for the 6.5in Ronin extender. Not sure if the v2 did or not. Wish I was more versed on the details.

The V3 has a one piece core to it with baffles spaced the full length and the end caps are different, were the V2 has a three piece core and baffles only in one section of the three pieces. It is basically a longer Ronin and the 6" extension will only fit the V3 Emperor. Donny has some photos on his website.

I put a Emperor V3 with the extension on my .257 Texan. It is VERY quiet...with noise reading around 84db with my iphone app. The noise comes from the hammer/valve and not the muzzle.

Very impressive!!! I have the same set up on my .40cal Badger, of course a larger caliber will not be so quiet, but still HUGE improvement over an open muzzle.

Thanks Loren for that information.

Really looking forward to getting the components on my Texan. The place I hunt has nosey individuals on the neighboring properties so any improvement in sound suppression is welcome. Even hunting legal game by legal means is frowned upon by some who think they own the county.

Just this year Texas finally allows big game (aka whitetails) to be taken by PCPs. Going to make the most of it. Have been hunting hogs and exotics for a while now.
