Best Table top Compressor recommendations

"but It sure beats"

To you. And maybe to the OP, but he did ask about "small non expensive" compressors. The Daystate is neither, but I bet it is a relatively good value and probably a good investment for many. I'm happy that you're now happy with one. I'm happy with my YH and still have $1700 in my pocket. If it failed and I had to buy 2 more I'd still have $1100. All relative. And the OP absolutely should have all available information to help with any question about compressors. Best of luck to you and the OP in making a decision.

Tabletop sounds more along the lines of a shoebox. I run a YH myself. Its loud (to me) but has worked very well. I have spare parts for it, but have yet to need them. If I ever get fed up with it, I'll likely get a shoebox

The Shoebox compressors seem like simple yet well designed units that have a very good track record but as I understand it they are slow. If that isn't an issue then one should be an excellent way to go.

Can't beat that for ease of use. And most people will have use for a shop air compressor anyway so not an issue for most. What shop compressor are you using and how much does it run? My large tank compressor was showing some rust when drained so I'm hesitant to use it much. I recently bought a small tank Harbor Freight oilless compressor to replace it that doesn't have a lot of tank volume but runs very well.
