best slings and carry options? Looking for advice

What have people found most effective in the carry department. In regards to Rifles the standard over the shoulder sling works okay, but I would like something that holds the gun more securely but still easy to access quickly when out hunting. I use shorter rifles, bullpups, usually in the 24-36 in length.

In regards to pistols, the more compact pcp pistols seem to hit the 12inch range for the shortest, 16-18 inch seems more common. What carry options have people found the most comfortable and easy to access? A pistol shoulder holster, would probably not work well for pistols this size?

Tooling around and found a couple things. The Kifaru Gun bearer seems to be the closest to what i'm searching for, but might still flop around a bit, much like the v-tac sling.
Orlando Toledo vega shared the Tenzing pack with me, very cool. You can fire a rifle without removing it from the bag (the bag doubling as a rest) and have room for anything else you may want on the trail. My one qualm is it's on you back and the minute and noise to get it off your back into a firing position is a count against it.

I currently own a Maxpedition Sitka gear slinger. Very fast and easy to swing to your front, but I have always thought of it more of a concealed carry pistol bag, I could strap a rifle onto it, might need to try it out...

looks to be a good option, same style/function as the Kifaru and v tec. In your experience, Longbrownbox, how much does the rifle swing and move while you are walking, crouching? Seems to put it in a fair cradle at your arms so its easy and natural to steady, but I would imagine it still needs a hand on it to keep it from swinging about when walking?

to achieve what i'm thinking of I may have to go the route of a butt stock clip on strap that the gun can hang from, but the leash has enough play to shoulder the gun, then form a kydex clip that the gun snaps into to hold it secure on the chest. Would have to work in conjunction with a vest or pack.
This would make the gun totally secure against the chest while walking or ducking under trees, and be 100% hands free. The leash would be a safety feature to ensure the gun doesn't fall to the ground if it happened to dislodge from the kydex clip.
