Has anyone used a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24x56 on a .22 Marauder?

Hi guys, I've been looking to replace the mediocre center point scope on my synrod. When I bought the gun the guy who sold it to me gave me a pretty big center point scope(like 6-24). I'd like to replace it with something with a little bigger field of view, and from what I've seen the Hawke sidewinder 6-24x56 20x 1/2mil looks like the best bet. Would this be a good scope given the gun? Im planing to do lots of hunting this winter, and then some long range shooting and hunting next summer.

I haven't used one myself, but I'm pretty sure that Ted from Ted's holdover uses a Hawke with the 20x mildot reticle in some of his videos. I really like the way the 20x reticle seems to work. I don't have the budget for one but am very happy with my Hawke Varmint 3-12 44 (which has a 1" tube) on my .22 Marauder, my main wish is that it had more mildots to use in longer range shots. See if you can find someone who's got one and look through it if you can. Be aware that it's a large and heavy scope, the 30mm tube and 56mm objective add a lot of weight.

Hey buddy...I have used the Sidewinder 6-24 x 56 on my .25 Synrod and also on my .25 Edgun. It has been stellar in performance, on both guns. As mentioned, it comes at a sacrifice w/ excess weight and is overkill for ranges under 50 yards but is the cats ass for those shots beyond. Field of view...the large objective does very little for increasing this but is more a product of magnification, so you may accomplish this need by turning this back to 10-16x. I would also recommend a Leapers with the same specs, which I have also used on both guns. At half the price and an additional 2 ounces of weight, it performs equally well and may be more appropriate to bling out a Marauder given the guns price. The Sidewinder does have the advantage of an additional 2 mildot holdover but is redundant as I typically use the turrets for holdover when shooting the longer ranges. Here's a couple of scope cam clips which will help compare one with the other as most shots were at high magnification:

I have the exact scope. I am very happy with it. I originally purchased it for my FX Boss, and after selling that gun, I temporarily mounted it to my Marauder Pistol. I now have the scope installed on my new .22 Vulcan. I am completely satisfied with it. The build quality is very nice, and the reticle is super thin. It's VERY heavy, but I don't mind that much. I used a UTG SWAT 3-12x44 Compact scope for a few years, and it treated me very well, but the reticle was a little too thick for really critical target use. Both scopes are very accommodating to my camera. The UTG actually has a more forgiving eye relief.
