best pump for a wildcat

"pelletwaster"I do not recommend any pumps, I do not care how young are strong you are. If you want to enjoy your gun get an air tank. Would to buy a boat and oars. Or a boat and motor.
Agreed. I am new to PCP airguns and wasted $300 on a Hill MK4 pump for my first rifle. Decided quickly to enjoy PCP's, an alternative means is necessary to charge with air. I went the shoebox compressor route and an AirVenturi 90 cu in tank. Best $$ spent. Otherwise, I would have to stick with break barrels.

I had both the FX3 & FX4, but sold the latter as I was offered a generous price and didn't need two. I am happy with the FX3, though it is only used once or twice per year in order to make sure it still works. The FX3 is easily strippable and serviceable.

Don't rush the operation of the handpump, use the weight of your body rather than muscles, and they are OK. If shooting a lot with a rifle using a lot of air, such as .25 upwards, I would question whether they are practical. If handpumping such a PCP three or four times per day I think that 95% of people will find it too straining. Filling once or twice per week is fine. If you're limited to two or three hours shooting time per week, and need to refill a few times, I'd question whether people would really want to spend a good part of that pumping your rifle.

I would feel naked without a handpump as backup to a tank.

I use an fx hand pump when my dive bottles are empty, takes a couple of minutes to go from 130bar to 250 bar, you certainly know you've done it but it's not that bad to be honest. I never think "oh god I can't be bothered today so I won't bother shooting"

ETA - If I'm shooting it will usually be a good couple of fills within an hour or 2 shooting session and its still not that bad.
