Not thread heisting, but I have a thought on how a shotshell might work a little better, but I'm not sure how the original air shotshells are loaded.
My idea is to actually use a 28 gauge or 410 bore hull, pop the primer out and load the hull as normal by cutting down the mouth the measurement that would be taken by the powder. Using a regular wad and perhaps #9 shot, folding a not too heavy crimp so shot won't leak out. Pretty much just like loading a real powder burner.
Using the open primer hole, the probe should fit right inside, maybe a modified one with a large o-ring to back of the hull? Just thinking that these could be loaded as a normal shotshell and carried around like a shotshell in a vest or bag.
I don't have access to a barrel making machine or know how to use one, but had this concept for a number of years. Thought that maybe with your talent, you could mull it over too? Maybe that's how an air shotshell is already loaded and I don't know it!
